THE PEACE MACHINE by Ozgur Mumcu is set in the early 1900s in Istanbul, Belgrade and Paris, and deals with the question of whether a peace machine could ever bring an end to all wars. In THE GIFT FROM DARKNESS, Andrea Claudia Hoffmann tells the story of Patience Ibrahim, a pregnant Nigerian girl who was kidnapped by Boko Haram (Little, Brown UK; Other Press US).
